Taughannock | Brodie Bard
Kathleen Bauer is a junior double majoring in Creative Writing and Advertising & Public Relations. Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, she now writes and attends college at Susquehanna University. The natural environment is one of her biggest inspirations, and she seeks to reflect that in both her poetry and photograph
Brodie Bard is a first-year ecology student and photographer at Susquehanna. He takes photos of almost every genre of photography, most recently focusing his art as a student photographer for SU’s MarComm department capturing events and campus for the school. As an ecologist, Brodie as an affinity for wildlife, particularly urban wildlife interactions.
Emma Dickinson is a senior, majoring in Earth and Environmental Sciences with a minor in Ecology and Environmental Studies from Hershey, Pennsylvania. Emma plays the cello, loves to garden, and enjoys woodworking. Emma’s senior research focuses on black-legged ticks and aims to provide valuable information regarding public safety and protection from tick-borne diseases.

Caleigh Fitzsimmons is a first-year Professional and Civic Writing major with a strong love for nature and prose. She enjoys writing experience-based pieces that combine these two interests into pieces that are both poetic and informational. Outside of her writings, she often spends time exploring the campus, squirrel-watching, and thinking about words.
Jacob Henretta is a junior Ecology major with minors in Honors and Earth and Environmental Sciences. He is a beginner in the photography world and loves wildlife photography. Outside of school he enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
Maddie Livezey is a current sophomore at Susquehanna University, dual majoring in Ecology and Studio Art with a concentration in Drawing and Painting. Maddie is passionate about combining both art and the sciences and incorporates both themes into their artwork and wants to incorporate their art skills into a future career. When not in classes, Maddie can be seen on campus driving the facilities golf carts for their job as an operations assistant!
Isabela El Dib Maesano is an English Writing, Literature, and Publishing major and Italian Language and Culture minor at The American University of Rome. She was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil where she began to foster her passion for reading, writing, and photography. She currently works as Chief Copy Editor for the Broad Ripple Review literary magazine, as well as an editor for The American University of Rome’s Remus Literary and Art journal.
Hannah Matriccino is a freshman at Susquehanna University majoring in Journalism and Digital Content and minoring in Spanish and Photography. After studying photography for two years in high school, she has recently rediscovered her passion for photography. Her goal for the future is to continue learning and refining her skills.
Bobbi Newsome is a performance poet in her Senior year at Susquehanna University. She’s majoring in Creative Writing and Publishing & Editing with double minors and she serves as the Historian of THE Black Student Union. She loves language, food, and music, and often draws inspiration for her writing from her favorite songs. Ideally, Bobbi wants to live in a small house filled with plants and tea, but in light of capitalism, she’ll settle for a job surrounded by literature; her first love.
Lily Papendick is a poet who strives to find meaning even in the mundane. A sophomore Creative Writing and Publishing & Editing double major with a minor in Marketing, she is overly involved but always makes sure to dress the part. In her free time, she enjoys writing poetry, never taking her headphones off, watching films, especially her favorite rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You, and spending time at the Jersey Shore with her loved ones.
Jay Schofield is a senior at Susquehanna University studying Environmental Science and Ecology. They currently work at the CEER as an Environmental Education and Outreach Intern and have worked under the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper as well as the Chesapeake Conservancy. They are currently working on a thesis on campus tree health and urban tree planning. Jay’s favorite part of studying the natural sciences is getting to spend lab time outside and going on field trips to local forests and wetlands. They hope to one day work as a restoration specialist or environmental educator for a non-profit organization.
Ella Struck is a Junior in Environmental Conservation and Management at Auburn University. She has a minor in Forest Health and supplements this interest during her work at the Forest Health Dynamics Co-op, where she is a fellow leading her own research. Ella has always had a passion for reading and writing and is thrilled to have been able to combine the two spheres of her life in this piece.
Trinity Trimmer (she/her) is a writer, editor, musician, and coffee enthusiast who loves traveling and reading literary fiction. She works with Ginkgo Magazine and Rivercraft Literary Magazine while also being a percussionist with the Susquehanna University Symphonic Band. When she’s not practicing marimba or studying with friends, she enjoys going for runs along the Susquehanna River. After graduation, she plans on living in a city along the East Coast and doing editorial work while writing books of her own.
