Ginkgo Magazine is looking for creative works for our 2025-26 issue! We accept traditional as well as multimedia submissions, including, but not limited to, poetry, prose, flash, nonfiction, art, photography, and video essays! We operate on rolling submissions, but to be eligible for the 2025-26 print edition, you must submit by December 31st at 11:59 PM.
Submission Guidelines:
- Please send all submissions as attachments to theginkgomagazine@gmail.com or use the submission form on our website.
- Submissions must be paginated and in 12-pt. Times New Roman font. Please limit submissions to 8,000 words, a thirty-minute runtime, or total 20 maximum pages for multimedia or nontraditional submissions.
- Each written submission should be a Microsoft Word document. Graphic works should be attached as JPEG or PDF files in the highest possible resolution.
- Please include a cover page with submission title, author’s name, graduation year, and email address. The author’s name should only be on the cover page.
- Works must not promote or glorify bigoted, homophobic, racist, sexist, ableist, or other overly harmful themes.
- Works must be defined as Environmental, Sustainability, or Naturalist Writing: “writing in which the environment is central to the theme of the piece, writing that approaches the environment through an activist lens, or writing that promotes and demonstrates environmental concerns, awareness, and sensitivities.”
At this time, Ginkgo Magazine is also accepting reading board applications. Board members read all submissions and meet in groups to critically discuss which pieces they’d like to see published in our print edition. Our board members should have an interest in working with environmental writing and are committed to cultivating a professional, compassionate, and confidential environment when discussing the work of others. All Susquehanna University students are welcome to apply! Please apply using this form by December 1st at 11:59 p.m.
